The experience at Sushi by Bou has been nothing short of incredible. We’ve been over 100 times between the Jersey City and Hoboken locations, and they never disappoint. The fish is consistently some of the freshest we’ve had, with every piece beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The chefs are talented, engaging, and make every omakase experience feel special, whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth. The atmosphere is intimate, fun, and perfect for anyone looking for a high-quality omakase without the pretentiousness. Consistency is what keeps us coming back, and Sushi by Bou continues to exceed our expectations every single time. If you’re looking for an amazing omakase experience, we can’t recommend the Jersey City and Hoboken locations enough. We already can’t wait for our next visit!

First off 17 courses for $100, yes thats a pricey night, but in the grand world of omakase that is an omakase BARGAIN! Every bite of sushi was a homerun, I especially loved the miso cod, but I was also insanely surprised by some Italian flare with a back to back combo featuring garlic and truffle at the top of the meal. But the real highlight of the night was our Sushi Chef David. So informative and was an awesome person to spend our night with.

Made a reservation for the 12-course omakase on a whim and it was the BEST decision I could have made. Each course was absolutely delicious. The miso cod was my favorite, but not by much because everything was truly that good. The chef and host/bartender with fun and super knowledgeable as well! I will definitely be back and visiting other locations!

I took my boyfriend here for the 12-course omakase. I had been to a few other omakase spots and I do think the selection here was pretty amazing! There were a few rolls I hadn’t had before at other spots. My only complaint is that I explicitly checked with the host about dessert options which were mostly boozy and said it was okay we’d get dessert elsewhere since we both don’t really drink…. to be surprised with sake. We’re not allergic, but it was a stated preference especially since he had plans to go the gym after. Besides that chef was amazing and friendly overall had a great time

Amazing food, but felt scammed on the bill I visited Sushi by Bou in Jersey city last Saturday night for their 17‑course omakase, which is advertised at 150 dollars per person. My cousin and I were genuinely impressed at first – every piece of sushi was delicious, the fish tasted fresh, and the presentation was beautiful. For most of the meal, it felt like a great high‑end dining experience. The problem came at the very end. The host asked if we wanted anything else, and I specifically asked what our options were and how much they would cost. I was told we could order any of the original 12 pieces à la carte, but when I asked the price per piece, the host hesitated and never actually answered the question. Then the bartender and sushi chef said, “Give them all 12 pieces. Run it back,” in a way that made it sound like it was part of the experience, not an extra charge. At no point did anyone clearly state the price of these additional pieces or indicate that this would significantly increase our bill. When the check came, it was close to 700 dollars for two people who started with a 150‑dollar‑per‑person omakase and only had about a drink each. Every extra piece had been charged
